The property in this catalog, as well as all items sold privately by Sadows Auction Galleries, Inc. may be amended by sales room notice or announcement and will be offered for sale by Sadows Auction Galleries, Inc. as agent for various owners or other consignors on the following terms and conditions.

1. Sadows Auction Galleries, Inc. ("Sadows") will add a buyer's premium of 10% to the final selling price of each lot. The buyer shall pay any applicable state or local sales tax unless the buyer is exempt by law from such tax. The buyer must sign a tax exempt form to support this exemption and is responsible for all taxes if signed claim is found to be invalid.

2. The sellers' reserve price, which is the confidential minimum price below which the lot will not be sold, will not exceed the low estimate circulated with the catalog. (The estimate can be found in parenthesis beside each description). In general the bidding will commence at approximately two thirds of the low estimate. "Sadows" may implement a reserve by bidding on behalf of the consignor, subject to a pre-arranged commission charge.

3. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. The auctioneer has the right to reject any bid and to advance the bidding at his absolute discretion and in the event of any dispute between bidders, to determine the successful bidder or to reoffer and resell the article in dispute. Should there be any dispute after the sale, "Sadows" record of final sale shall be conclusive. All lots are to be paid for and taken away at the buyer's expense at the conclusion of the auction unless other arrangements are made prior to the sale.

4. "Sadows" has endeavored to note infractions, restorations and repairs in its catalog descriptions. However, prospective purchasers should personally view lots offered for sale to evaluate the condition of the articles. All property is sold "as" and neither the galleries nor the consignor makes any guarantees of any kind regarding the authorship or authenticity of any item.

5. If within 7 days of the sale the buyer gives notice in writing that the property is a forgery and returns it to "Sadows" in the same condition as when sold and within a reasonable period thereafter satisfies "Sadows" that the property is a forgery and that this was not indicated by a fair reading of the catalog then "Sadows" as agent for the seller with rescind the sale and refund the purchase price.

6. "Sadows" reserves the right to withdraw, divide or combine and lots at its discretion any time prior to the sale of said lots.

7. Where bidders are unable to attend the sale, "Sadows" will accept absentee bids, subject to the Conditions of Sale, without charge and without responsibility for errors.


ABSENTEE BIDDING INSTRUCTIONS

Sadows Auction Galleries accepts absentee bids as well as telephone bids. Our procedure for absentee bids is as follows: Prospective bidder leaves the highest amount they would be willing to pay for each item.

Note: All bidding must start live at the auction. (Example, bidder leaves a bid of $1,000.00. The highest opening bid the Auctioneer can get live at the auction is $600.00, he would then enter the absentee bidder at $650.00. If the bidding stops there the absentee bidder would buy the item for $650.00) We NEVER would start the bid at the absentee bidders high amount.

Please note: the final hammer price does not include the 10% Buyer’s Premium or Michigan Sales Tax (6%) if applicable. Items required to leave an absentee bid are: Name, Address & Phone Number Credit Card Number Item number and highest amount you are willing to bid on this item. All absentee bids are subject to our posted Terms and Conditions of Sale.
